Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office leaders say a deputy was hurt in a head-on crash that involved an impaired driver. They say Sgt. John O’Hern was responding to a call near Franklinton off Highway 25 when he was hit head-on by an impaired driver. O’Hern has serious injuries, including a shattered pelvis, a dislocated femur, and various bumps, cuts, and bruises.”When Sergeant O’Hern was sworn in with the WPSO, he made it a top priority to arrest drunk drivers and keep our roads safe,” a post on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page read. “His dedication to this cause makes this incident especially poignant.”
