Karina Ariev, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier, was serving at an army base near the Gaza border when Hamas militants kidnapped her on 7 October.

Alexandra, her older sister, came across a video that was circulating on Telegram which showed Karina being taken away in a vehicle.

Alexandra spoke to the BBC about how she is trying to stay hopeful, more than a week after her sister was taken.
