Gabby Barrett is just 24 years old, but she has what it takes to be a country music star.
The singer from Pittsburgh – who rose to fame after her 2018 appearance on “American Idol” – will make her Mahoning Valley debut tonight when she headlines an 8 p.m. concert at Packard Music Hall in Warren.
Barrett released her second studio album, “Chapter & Verse,” in February, and followed it up with a live EP, “The Live Sessions,” in July.
Tickets range from $89 to $39 and are available at the box office.
The Canfield Fair is looming (it opens Wednesday, Aug. 28), which makes this weekend the second to last weekend of summer.
High school football season starts tonight, and Youngstown State University will kick off its season Aug. 29 at Villanova. To get ready, the YSU Pride marching band will preview its halftime show at 3 p.m. Friday at Stambaugh Stadium. Admission is free.
Then, on Saturday, the Penguin Collective will present Rock the Lot at Penguin City Brewing, downtown. It will be a tailgate-style party. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Admission is $10, and the event will include food trucks and live music by Ohayo, Larry Elefante and No Funk No Justice.
The biggest event of the weekend will be Youngstown Playhouse’s production of “Beautiful: The Carole King Story,” Friday through Sunday at Powers Auditorium. Learn more HERE.
