Fall Jazz Concert: Jackie Ryan & Trio

Jackie Ryan and Trio

This Saturday, November 18, the San Ramon Library Foundation presents the latest in the Adventures in Jazz series, featuring Jackie Ryan & Trio.

One of the outstanding jazz vocalists of her generation, Jackie Ryan has performed and recorded with many jazz greats. Ryan will captivate you with her masterful interpretation of jazz standards, Spanish ballads, blues and luscious love songs. The band includes John R. Burr on piano, Erik Jekabson on trumpet & flugelhorn, and Doug Miller on bass.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the San Ramon Library (100 Montgomery Street).

Fall Jazz Concert: Lady K and the Kings of Swing

Front Row Theater at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center

Lady K and the Kings of Swing 2023

Join us for an evening of jazz at the Front Row Theater at Dougherty Station Community Arts Center (17011 Bollinger Canyon Road)!

Lady K and the Kings of Swing is a 17-piece Frank Sinatra-style big band recreating the sounds of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Count Basie, Gershwin, Kenton, Sinatra and more. Led by saxophonist Kaye Leedham, the band features powerhouse performers like Grammy nominee vocalist Carla Helmbrecht, and many of the Bay Area’s leading jazz musicians. The band’s arrangements have a slightly modern twist on the classics, which make performances exciting, contemporary and fun!

This will be a fun and memorable evening of classic jazz for music lovers of all ages! Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 17 and under, plus ticketing fees.

Sign Up Now: Bah Humbug! 5K Fun Run / Walk & Kids’ Dash
Saturday, December 2 at the San Ramon Community Center

5K Run / Walk

The 2023 Bah Humbug! 5K Fun Run / Walk and Kids’ Dash, presented by the City of San Ramon and Chevron, is a great way to kick off the holiday season!

The Bah Humbug! 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and is a chip-timed race, which begins and ends at the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta). Participants will receive a long-sleeved holiday shirt and the famous Bah Humbug! ornament.

This event is great for families and children!

Kids’ Dash

The Kids’ Dash is for children ages 4-9 years old, and begins at 8 a.m. The course is approximately 1K and will start and end at the main finish line on Alcosta Blvd, in front of the San Ramon Community Center (12501 Alcosta). The Kids’ Dash is a non-timed event. There will be a clock at the finish line for participants to see their personal results.

5K Adult (ages 19 & over)
   $50 October 1–December 1
   $55 on Race Day

5K Youth (ages 18 & under)
   $40 October 1–December 1
   $45 on Race Day

Kids Dash (ages 4-9)
   $35 October 1–December 1

Community Tree Lighting
Saturday, December 2 from 4–6 p.m.
San Ramon City Hall Rotunda & Central Park Meadow

Community Tree Lighting

Join the City of San Ramon for the annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony! This free, family-friendly event will feature holiday-themed crafts, tasty treats, and festive live entertainment in and around City Hall.

The highlight of the event will be the countdown and lighting of the Holiday Tree in the Central Park Meadow.

Crow Canyon Widening Update
Construction Continues Between Alcosta Blvd & Crow Canyon Private (Cobblestone)

Crow Canyon Widening Project

Work continues on the Crow Canyon Widening Project between Alcosta Boulevard and Crow Canyon Private (Cobblestone). See below for a summary of planned upcoming work.

Work Completed Through the Week of 11/6/23:

  • Completed soil bench excavation (removal of additional soil that was added for equipment to drive on)
  • Completed retaining wall installation
  • Completed traffic signal switchover work at the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Tahiti Drive/El Capitan Drive
  • Completed Job walk with 3rd party utility companies (Barbados Drive to Crow Canyon Private)
  • Began irrigation installation (Barbados to Crow Canyon Private)
  • Began subdrain installation
  • Began sidewalk, curb, and gutter layout for installation

Work Planned Through the Week of 11/30/23 (Weather Dependent):

  • Continue traffic signal work at the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Tahiti Drive/El Capitan Drive to remove existing right turn lane closure in early December
  • Continue drainage inlet work
  • Continue electrical work at Barbados for traffic signal
  • Continue 3rd party utility relocation/adjustment work (Barbados Drive to Crow Canyon Private)
  • Continue irrigation installation (Barbados to Crow Canyon Private)
  • Continue sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation

Construction Update: Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing
Upcoming Changes to Bollinger Canyon Road Traffic

IHT Overcrossing at Bollinger

Work continues on the Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road. Please see below for anticipated upcoming work and impacts to traffic flow.

Work Completed Through the Week of 11/6/23:

  • Continued Trail area demolition and excavation

Work Anticipated Through the Week of 11/30/23 (Weather Dependent):

  • Complete CIDH (cast in drilled hole) pile work on the North and South Trail
  • Continue electrical work for the traffic signal at the intersection of Bollinger Canyon Road at BR1E
  • November 16: Night Work – Mobilize equipment to the south side of the Trail for South CIDH (cast in drilled hole) pile work
  • November 28: Day Work – Traffic signal pole relocation and traffic signal switchover – watch for flaggers and traffic control
  • November 28: Night Work – Mobilize equipment and install additional k-rail in the median. One additional westbound lane on Bollinger Canyon Road will be closed for the median CIDH (cast in drilled hole) pile work for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
