Wild West Wildlife rallying to rescue injured animals amid historic wildfires

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center has formed a scouting team that will be traveling to the Fritch-Borger area, Canadian, and Gene Howe area in search of animals to assist with treatment and transportation.

The organization encourages the public to contact them with information and the location of injured animals in these areas.

“If we find anything injured or orphaned, we’ve got carriers with us. We also have medical supplies to be able to triage,” said Stephanie Brady, founder and executive director. “It’s a very, very big area and we don’t have any ATV’s or anything like that, so we have to rely on the public, and then just be smart with looking towards water sources.”

The team from the rehab center left Friday morning.

If you have any information on injured animals in your area, call Wild West Wildlife’s phone number at (806) 680-2483.
