Wizards of Waverly Place is returning with a revamp, but will Selena Gomez resume her role as Alex? This is the question that everyone is asking.

David Henrie and Selena Gomez, also known as Justin and Alex Russo, are preparing to restore the magic to Disney Channel. The long-awaited on-screen reunion between Gomez and Henrie has finally happened.

The highly anticipated Wizards of Waverly Place revival, starring Henrie’s character Justin, was scheduled to broadcast on Disney Channel in January 2024. Naturally, Gomez will return as Alex.

Gomez shared the news of her return on her Instagram Story at the time, adding, “So excited!!.”

In a following post, she captioned a vintage photo of herself and Henrie with “WE’RE BACK”.

The two played the older Russo brothers on Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 until 2012. Jennifer Stone, David DeLuise, Maria Canals-Barrera, and Jake T. Austin appeared in the original film.

Wizards of Waverly Place’s return to Disney Channel has been officially confirmed.

Gomez is scheduled to reprise her iconic role as Alex Russo. However, she will only appear in the first episode.

According to multiple sources, Gomez has been assigned as an executive producer on the film.
