Will Tangled’s Live-Action Version Star Florence Pugh as Rapunzel?

Florence Pugh is trying to get a part as a Disney princess.

Reports say that the actress who plays Black Widow is one of the top choices to play Rapunzel in the supposed live-action version of Tangled.

Last week, there were reports that the long-haired princess would be in a live-action movie. However, Disney hasn’t said anything about this because the SAG-AFTRA strike is still going on.

Even though it hasn’t been confirmed, fans have taken it upon themselves to show the casting agents their dream choices for the main parts of Rapunzel and Disney heartthrob Flynn Rider. They have done this by putting up photos of their favorite artists to prove their point.

In an interview with CBS earlier this year, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from the show Never Have I Ever said that she would like to play Rapunzel in a live-action version. She compared Rapunzel’s strict mother to that of a South Asian family.

“I think Rapunzel should be a South Asian girl. Because hear me out, no one knows what it feels like to be trapped in your room. Not able to go out because your mother is telling you no, without giving you an actual proper reason like brown girls do. It’s true. That would be like a dream role for me.” she said at the time. That’s right. For me, that would be a dream job.”

There were also rumors that Jada Pinkett-Smith was being considered for the part, but the fact-checking website Snopes quickly debunked those rumors.
