WILLIAMSVILLE 35, ATHENS 33: At Dave Root Court, Brecken Thomas scored the go-ahead basket with under 20 seconds remaining while also getting fouled to earn the Sangamo Conference win.
Teammate Brayden Saling hit a 3-pointer for a 32-31 advantage before Athens’ Zac Laird answered with two free throws with 24 seconds left. Thomas missed his free throw attempt to complete the 3-point play, but Reid Bodine collected the offensive rebound and converted his second free throw attempt for the final score with 9.5 seconds left.
Laird missed his shot attempt on the other end and Carson Kohler sealed the win with the defensive rebound at the buzzer for the Bullets, who improved to 17-5 overall and 3-1 in the league.
PLEASANT PLAINS 62, AUBURN 48: At Plains, Cooper Schallenberg converted six 3-pointers and totaled 26 points in the Sangamo Conference victory.
Liam Hatfield added 13 points to vault the Cardinals to 10-13 overall and 2-2 in the league. The Trojans (21-3, 3-1 Sangamo) drop into a five-way tie for first place in the Sangamo with New Berlin, Williamsville, Riverton and Maroa-Forsyth.

SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 46, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 36: At Jim Belz Gym, junior Jamarion Bardwell poured in 12 points in the second quarter and lifted the Cyclones to a nonconference victory.
Bardwell finished with two 3-pointers and had 15 of his 17 points in the first half when SHG built a 30-18 lead. Chucky Lanier scored nine points and Zion Lee added eight for SHG (8-14).
Springfield (3-17) scored nine points in each quarter and went 7-for-20 (35%) from the free throw line. Elijah Wade made three field goals, went just 3-for-9 from the line and led the Senators with nine points.

RIVERTON 62, STANFORD OLYMPIA 46: At the Hawk Center, Jaxson Miller totaled 18 points to pick up a Sangamo Conference win. The Hawks (19-4, 3-1 Sangamo) led 29-21 at halftime.
MAROA-FORSYTH 67, MASON CITY ILLINI CENTRAL 51: At Maroa, Kaiden Maurer supplied 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half and the Trojans rolled to a Sangamo Conference win.
Mitch Williams and Zayne Giles each had 14 points. Caebrin Lee added eight and Maroa improved to 15-7 overall and 3-1 in the league. David Bard led the Cougars with 15 points.
In other Sangamo action, New Berlin topped Petersburg PORTA/A-C Central 53-38 to improve to 18-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

PEORIA HIGH 52, LANPHIER 43: At Lober-Nika Gym, Peoria outscored Lanphier 36-24 in the second half and registered a nonconference win.
Lanphier (14-12) led 19-13 after one quarter and 29-26 at intermission. But Peoria (12-10) made 14 of 26 shots in the second half, while Lanphier made 9 of 27, including going 0-for-7 from 3-point territory.
Peoria’s Leshawn Stowers made two 3-pointers, went 9-for-9 from the line and exploded for 25 points to go with six rebounds. Rico Jackson had 14 and Dionte Mann added 12 points in the win.
Shaun Hatchett Jr. provided Lanphier with a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds. JaiQuan Holman scored 10 and Amari Anderson had eight points.
TROY TRIAD 50, ROCHESTER 47: At the Rochester Athletic Complex, Triad limited Rochester to three field goals in the fourth period and came back to record a nonconference victory.
Rochester led 41-38 after three quarters but was outscored 12-6 in the fourth. Drew Winslow had 15 second-half points, including six in the final period to lead Triad (17-8). Winslow finished with a game-best 29 points, going 8-for-9 from the foul line.
Eli Cox delivered 12 points and Kai Bruce put in three 3-pointers and scored nine for the Rockets (11-15).
DECATUR EISENHOWER 55, JACKSONVILLE 42: At Decatur, Isaiah Martinez produced 17 points while Ryan McCombs had 16 in the Central State Eight Conference loss. The Crimsons fell to 11-14 overall and 3-5 in the CS8.
WINCHESTER WEST CENTRAL 54, JACKSONVILLE ROUTT 48: At Bluffs, Zack Evans paced the Cougars with 19 points in a Western Illinois Valley Conference win.
Connor Brown supplied 12 points for West Central (22-3, 7-0 WIVC). Bryson Mossman led Routt (15-9, 5-2) with 26 points.
SOUTH COUNTY 74, BUNKER HILL 18: At Franklin, Trevor Colwell and Noah Lyons combined for 20 points in the first quarter to cruise to an MSM Conference win.
Colwell hit two 3s in the opening frame and finished with 21 points. Lyons had 12 of his game-high 23 points in the first period. The Vipers (18-6, 7-1 MSM) led 26-6 after one. Bishop McDannald added seven points.
PANA 62, WINDSOR/STEWARDSON-STRASBURG 60 (OT): At Windsor, Matt McFarland and Ethan Hicks combined for 18 points after halftime to spur the Panthers to a nonconference road win.
McFarland scored seven of his nine points in the third period after Pana trailed 32-26 at halftime. Hicks generated nine of his 11 points after the break.
Brayden Carlson led Pana with 21 points, including 13 with three 3s in the second period. Clayton Worker had 11 points. Both teams were deadlocked at 54-all at the end of regulation.
Jackson Gurgel led Windsor with 18 points while Nathan Gracey had 14.
PEORIA HEIGHTS 62, HAVANA 47: At Havana, Peoria Heights put four players in double figures and posted a Prairieland Conference victory.
Barrett Marfell led Peoria Heights (12-11 overall, 5-3 in the Prairieland) with 17 points. Jaron Boggs was the high scorer for Havana (5-17, 1-6) with 16 points.
Monday’s results
PANA 68, MULBERRY GROVE 50: At Mulberry Grove, Ethan Hicks drained six 3-pointers, went 4-for-4 from the free throw line and scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Panthers.
Hicks drilled three 3s in the first quarter to help Pana build a 16-6 lead. His first six buckets came from 3-point range before he made a pair of 2-point baskets and his four free throws in the fourth period.
Clayton Worker chipped in 13 points and Matt McFarland contributed 10.
ROXANA 69, GILLESPIE 42: At Gillespie, Roxana made seven of its 10 3-pointers in the first half and eased to a nonconference victory.
The Shells (15-10) went into halftime with a 38-19 lead. Chris Walleck ended with four 3s and a game-high 24 points and teammate Aidan Briggs also pumped in four treys and scored 17.
Stan Wargo connected on three 3s and led Gillespie (7-19) with 15 points in the loss.
CARLINVILLE 51, BUNKER HILL 42 (OT): At Carlinville, the Cavaliers outscored the Minutemen 9-0 in overtime to claim a nonconference win.
Carlinville (11-14) trailed 42-40 with 5.4 seconds left in regulation when Sawyer Smith passed to Tate Duckels, who made a basket with less than one second remaining to force overtime. It was Duckels’ only two points of the game.
Smith then had five points in OT and scored 16 of his 18 points after halftime. The Cavaliers made 7 of 12 free throws in OT. Cole Sullivan popped in four 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 14 points.
Cole Yates hit a pair of 3s, had 18 second-half points and scored a game-high 24 for Bunker Hill (8-16).
