Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory Comes to Life in London for the World Premiere of ‘Wonka’


On Tuesday night, Warner Bros.’ new musical picture Wonka had its international premiere at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Hugh Grant, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, and newcomer Calah Lane co-star with Timothée Chalamet as the youthful Willy Wonka.

The red carpet was a star-studded affair, with Chalamet and Grant leading the way. Chalamet sported a pink velvet suit, while Grant wore a traditional tuxedo. Colman, Key, Hawkins, Atkinson, and Lane were among those present.

The film is a prequel to Roald Dahl’s iconic novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, telling the narrative of Willy Wonka’s childhood and how he came to build his magical chocolate factory.

The premiere went well, and the picture received positive reviews from critics. Wonka is scheduled to hit theaters on December 15, 2023.

Along with the screening, Warner Bros. hosted an after-party at the Tate Modern gallery. The film’s cast and crew, as well as other celebrities and VIPs, attended the party.
