ORGANIZERS OF THE TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGN SAY THAT THEY’RE EXPECTING A GREATER NEED FOR TOYS THIS YEAR. THE DONORS WHO WE SPOKE TO TODAY SAID IT WAS JUST GREAT TO HELP OUT A FANTASTIC CAUSE. The WLKY/Marine Corps Toys for Tots 12-hour Challenge was a big success on Friday.The challenge collected more than 5,000 toys for the campaign this year.Organizers of the Toys for Tots campaign said they’re expecting a greater need for toys this year.The donors that WLKY spoke with on Friday said it was great to help out a fantastic cause.”I brought a Kindle and some sets of makeup brushes and some pedicure sets,” said Sue Brown.”We just feel proud that there’s so many people out there who do want to help others at this time of the year and help kids have a merry Christmas,” said Mark Harris.If you were unable to donate on Friday, you can still bring a toy to Light Up Louisville on Saturday.
