WLOX Chief Meteorologist Carrie Duncan announces retirement from television

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – After 25 years in the television business and 21 years at WLOX, Chief Meteorologist Carrie Duncan is retiring from the industry.

The late nights and early mornings are part of the job, but it can make family life hard. Carrie is looking forward to spending more time with her family with a new job and schedule that allows her time to do so.

A lot has changed since Carrie started at WLOX. She now has two sons, and she’s very excited to now be able to pick them up from school and attend their sports games.

Carrie may be saying goodbye to television, but she’ll be staying in the area, and she’s not going to stop working. Carrie has accepted the position of Community Relations and Engagement Specialist at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.

“I’m really excited about it. It’s something where I’m going to be able to get out and still interact with the community, and I just think that it was the perfect fit at the perfect time for me,” Carrie said.

Carrie will still be at WLOX until the end of January, but it’s not goodbye forever! You may still see her make appearances on WLOX in the very near future.
