Who says you can’t get something for free nowadays?
On Friday, Nov. 17, Western Nevada College’s Workforce, Career and Technical Education department is presenting a free Roadside and Preventative Auto Maintenance Workshop at the E.L. Cord Automotive Technology Center at 2201 W. College Parkway in Carson City.
The one-night workshop from 6 to 8:30 p.m. will provide attendees with demonstrations and hands-on learning. It will give teens, individuals and families the know-how to successfully perform an oil change on their own vehicles.
“Our role is to educate the community and this free workshop is an excellent way for people to learn more about their vehicles and perform services to save money,” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “Participants will also learn about our auto mechanics program and its advanced technology.”
Attendees will need the year, make and model of their vehicle or the 17-digit VIN number located at the base of the driver’s side windshield. Take this information to any auto parts store to purchase the necessary oil filter and oil for your car. Bring your car with a new oil filter and oil to the workshop to be guided through an oil change.
The workshop will be instructed by Sunshine Haupt. Register here. Phone 775-445-4419 to learn more about the workshop.
