PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — A woman is dead after a crash in south Phoenix on Sunday morning.

Around 10:45 a.m., Phoenix police were called to a two-car collision near 7th Avenue and Baseline Road. Officers arrived and found a woman in the passenger seat of one of the vehicles with serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital, where she died. The woman has not been identified.

Police say the drivers of the cars stayed at the scene. The area was closed for several hours as detectives investigated what led to the crash. It has since reopened.
