GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A pedestrian is struck and killed by a car in Gaines Township Friday evening.

Kent County deputies said a Jeep driven by a 30-year-old Gaines Township woman was heading southbound on South Division. She made an eastbound turn onto 68th Street and hit a 48-year-old Gaines Township Woman walking northbound across the street.

The 48-year-old later died at the hospital.
