Woman in serious condition after being hit by car on I-25 in Colorado Springs


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – An auto-pedestrian crash is under investigation in Colorado Springs.

Around 11:40 p.m. Friday, the Colorado State Patrol responded to southbound I-25 near Circle/South Academy for a crash with a pedestrian. Troopers say a 50-year-old woman was walking on I-25, when she was hit by an SUV.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Troopers say the 59-year-old female driver, who has not yet been publicly identified, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, with other charges pending.

I-25 was briefly closed overnight, but has since reopened. We will update this article as we learn more.
