Larissa Renae Statler, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she purposely caused her mother to wreck a vehicle after attacking her in front of a child in Rome.

Authorities stated that the altercation began when Statler hit the 60 year-old victim in the face. When the victim attempted to call 911 for help, Statler is accused of grabbing the victim’s phone and hitting her over the head with it.
Statler is then accused of grabbing the wheel of the vehicle the victim was driving and caused it to wreck into another car.
A 10 year-old child witnessed the attack which occurred on East 8th Street.
Statler is charged with battery, cruelty to children in the 3rd degree, reckless conduct and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
