OAKLAND — A 35-year-old woman was shot multiple times Wednesday night in East Oakland in what police said was road rage violence.
Her 10-year-old daughter, who was riding in her car, was not physically injured, authorities said.
The wounded woman was in stable condition at a hospital.
The shooting happened about 7:53 p.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of Hawley Street.
A few minutes before that, police said the woman was driving her car with her daughter as a passenger and was exiting Interstate 880 at Hegenberger Road when another vehicle cut her off.
The woman honked at the other driver and continued on.
Police said the other driver followed the woman for less than a mile to Hawley Street, where he got out of his vehicle after she stopped and began shooting at her vehicle. He fled in his Toyota Highlander before police arrived.
The woman suffered wounds to different parts of her body.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
