Women’s Basketball Signs Gentry and Heathcock for 2024-25


Omaha, Neb. — Creighton Women’s Basketball head coach Jim Flanery announced the addition of Elizabeth Gentry and Allison Heathcock on Wednesday, November 8th, the first day of the fall signing day. Gentry and Heathcock signed national letters of intent and will join the Bluejays at the onset of the 2024-25 season.

Gentry is a 6-3 center from Littleton, Colorado. She spent her first two seasons at Columbine High School, earning 6A First Team All-CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) as a sophomore and Second Team as a freshman. The second ranked player in the 2024 class by Prep Girls Hoops, Elizabeth was a two-time Female Student Athlete of the Year at Columbine HS and started on the Hardwood 3SSB Adidas National Championship Team. Gentry averaged 11.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

 
Heathcock comes to Omaha from Edmond, Oklahoma. The 6-1 guard plays at Edmond North High School, helping the Huskies claim the 6A state championship in each of the last two seasons. Allison has collected All-OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association) honors in each of her three seasons. She was First Team All-OSSAA as a junior, Second Team as a sophomore and collected Honorable Mention as a freshman. The third ranked player in Oklahoma by Prep Girls Hoops, Heathcock averaged 11.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season.


The 22nd ranked Bluejays opened the season with an impressive 75-52 win over North Dakota State on November 6th and open their home schedule against South Dakota on Friday, November 10th at 11:30 a.m. in D.J. Sokol Arena.
