CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women’s basketball will travel to Waco, Texas this weekend to take on No. 21 Baylor for the first time in history on Sunday, November, 19.  Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m. CT at the Ferrell Center and on ESPN+.

What to Know

• Harvard has had a strong start to their 2023-24 season and the second year under head coach Carrie Moore, winning three straight games after dropping their season opener.  The Crimson have defeated Boston College, Quinnipiac, and UMass and will now look to extend their winning streak to four against No. 21 Baylor. 
• The last time out the Crimson put up a big win, defeating UMass on their home court, 78-57.  With the win, Harvard has now defeated the Minutewomen in back-to-back meetings. 
• Harvard was led by strong performances from Lola Mullaney and Harmoni Turner who contributed 23 and 22 points, respectively.  The Crimson had at least four players score in double digit for the third time this season as Elena Rodriguez also contributed 12 and Abigail Wright had 10 points. 
• Mullaney had her highest scoring performance so far this season with her team-high 23 points on eight of 15 shooting.  The senior tied her career single game best for the third time by draining seven triples.  Mullaney has shot an identical 7-13 from three in each of the last two meetings against UMass.  Mullaney also pulled down eight rebounds, dished out three assists and had two steals in the contest. 
• Turner who followed closely behind Mullaney with 22 points also reached her career milestone of 1,000 points in Thursday’s game.  Just needed eight points to surpass 1,000, Turner hit the mark with one minute remaining in the first quarter off of a floater down the lane.  Just a few games into her junior year, Turner now sits at No. 22 in career points. 
• The Crimson junior also moved up on the all-time steals list.  With her three steals against UMass, Turner now sits at No. 9 all-time with 150 career steals. 
• Rodriguez had another all-around performance against the Minutewomen by shooting 5-6 from the field, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out a team high five assists, and having two steals. 
• Through the team’s first four games, Turner finds herself in the top-25 of numerous national statistical categories.  As of November 17, Turner is second in field goal attempts (79), ninth in points (80), tied for 10^th in field goals made (30), tied for 18^th in steals (12), and tied for 24^th in assists (20).
• With a hot start from behind the three-point line, Mullaney finds herself in several national statistical categories.  The senior is tied for second in three-point field goals made with 14, tied for fourth in three-point field goal attempts having gotten off 34, and tied for 22nd in three-point field goals per game as she averages 3.5. 
• As a team, the Crimson rank as the 45^th three-point percentage defense in the country with its opponents shooting just 22% from deep. 
• The Crimson season will consist of 13 nonconference matchups before it begins conference play on Saturday, January 6 against Yale. 
• After last Sunday’s contest, the Crimson have one remaining nonconference home game which will take place on Saturday, December 2 as Harvard welcomes the Michigan Wolverines to Lavietes Pavilion. 
• The Crimson returns eight players from last year’s roster and welcomes three first-years and a junior transfer.
• After a strong high school career, first-year Karlee White was recently tabbed No. 11 on The Athletic Women’s College Basketball Top 20 Freshmen list. 
• The matchup in Waco on Sunday will serve as the first in history between Harvard and Baylor.

The Crimson will travel to San Diego, California to compete at the Coast 2 Coast 2023 San Diego Classic over Thanksgiving.  Harvard will face North Dakota State on Friday, November 24 at 2:30 p.m. PT and SMU on Saturday, November 25 at 2:30 p.m. PT.  Both contests will be streamed by FloHoops.
