GAME 6
Eastern Illinois wraps up its three-game Thanksgiving Weekend trip with a Tuesday night game at New Mexico. The Panthers dropped both of their games at the Grand Canyon Tournament over the weekend falling to 1-4 on the season after losses to Nicholls and Fresno State. New Mexico is also looking to snap a two-game losing skid after a pair of losses at the Cancun Classic. The Lobos are 4-2 on the season including 3-0 at home in The Pit.
McGLONE DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Macy McGlone posted her first double-double of the season and barely missed on two straight during the Panthers two games in Phoenix. McGlone opened the Grand Canyon Tournament with 14 points and nine rebounds against Nicholls on Friday. She followed up that performance with a 19 point, 12 rebound effort against Fresno State. The junior post player was 14-of-26 (53.8 pct) from the field adding three assists and three steals to her weekend totals. For the season she leads the Panthers in scoring (13.8 ppg – 7th OVC) and rebounding (8.4 rpg – 1st OVC).
COLSON BREAKS THROUGH FOR DOUBLE FIGURES
For the first time in her Eastern Illinois career, junior Ellie Colson reached double figures in the scoring column as she finished with ten points on Saturday against Fresno State. Colson has started the last three games for the Panthers after coming off the bench in 39 games during her first two seasons on the roster. Earlier this year she posted a new career high with seven points in the loss at No. 9 Indiana playing 20 minutes of the bench. She has started the last three games averaging 23 minutes a contest and is now shooting 50 percent from the field averaging 4.8 points per game.
