Women’s Basketball Welcomes Trevecca Nazarene Wednesday


HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women’s basketball team wraps up its three-game homestand to start the 2023-24 campaign with a nonconference matchup with Trevecca Nazarene on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

UAH enters the nonconference tilt with a 1-1 overall record after an exciting end to the GSC-SSC Crossover at Spragins Hall with an upset victory over No. 3 Tampa on Saturday by a score of 65-59. Saturday’s win was the first over a top-10 ranked team since Feb. 29, 2020.
 
Junior Jesse Jennings led the Chargers in Saturday’s victory with a team-high 14 points to go along with seven rebounds that rated second on the roster. Overall through two games, UAH has five players averaging 7.5 points or more led by Haelim Adle with 18 points during opening weekend.
 
Trevecca Nazarene comes into Wednesday’s matchup with a 1-1 overall record, following a win over Southwest Baptist and a loss to Drury at home over the weekend. The Trojans offense was led by Keeley Carter with a team-high 41 points over the two-game span.
 
UAH holds a 3-8 all-time record against TNU, with the Trojans winning the most recent matchup on Nov. 16, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee, by a score of 75-59.
 
After Wednesday’s game, the Chargers look ahead to an exhibition on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Jacksonville State.
