Women’s Tennis Concludes Competition at ITA Super Regionals


WEST POINT, NY – Harvard women’s tennis concluded play at the ITA Super Regionals today after falling in a pair of battle in singles and doubles play. 

Charlotte Owensby, who won a pair of matches yesterday, saw her super regionals run come to an end in the quarterfinals.  Owensby fell to fellow Ivy foe, Neha Velaga (Princeton), in a 6-4, 6-3 decision. 
 
In doubles, Kavya Karra and Stephanie Yakoff fell short against Lindsey Hofflander and Phoebe Peus (Brown).  Despite dropping the first set, the Crimson duo battled back to even the match and take the second set, 7-5.  In tiebreakers, the Brown duo was ultimately able to pull ahead, 10-6, to claim the victory.

Neha Velaga (Prinecton) def. No. 109 Charlotte Owensby, 6-4, 6-3

Doubles – Round of 16

Lindsey Hofflander/Phoebe Peus (Brown) def. Kavya Karra/Stephanie Yakoff, 6-3, 5-7, 10-6

Next Up

The Crimson will return home to close out the fall season by hosting BC, Brown, and Columbia in the Harvard Invite beginning Friday, November 3.
