Women’s Tennis Faces Jacksonville State

Birmingham – On Tuesday, the Blazers will host Jacksonville State in its home opener at the Hoover Met Tennis Courts. The match is set for 1p.m.

We interviewed head coach Mark Tjia to hear his thoughts about playing at the Hoover Met and the goals for the team this season.

“We love playing at the Hoover Met,” said coach Tjia. “They have such an amazing facility, and it is really fan-friendly to watch matches there. This year we will be streaming our home matches live online, so we are really excited to see how it goes this first time out.”

“The team has bought into the intensity, focus, and hard work needed to achieve success at this level,” says coach Tjia. “We are focusing on displaying championship traits, and that especially includes being brave and coming together in the face of fear and doubt. I believe the team will come up with a season they can be proud of.”

Up next, the Blazers head to Starkville to play Mississippi State on Feb. 3. The next home match will be on Feb. 13 against North Alabama at the Hoover Met.
