KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Bellarmine University women’s tennis team dropped a pair of 4-0 decisions to Power-5 programs Wake Forest and Tennessee on Sunday at UT’s Goodfriend Tennis Center.
Against Wake Forest (1-1), Bellarmine freshman Lillie Willis took the first set against Jingyi Li 7-6 (7-3) before it was stopped early in the second set after the Demon Deacons clinched the team win.
No. 18 Tennessee improved to 4-0 after also beating Wake Forest 6-1.
Bellarmine (0-2) will host Marshall at 9 a.m. (ET) Thursday in its home opener.
