Tulsa lost a key senior in Laia Conde Monfort, who went 17-13 in singles and 17-13 in doubles last season. She also was a three-time All-AAC honoree and AAC Player of the Year in 2022. However, the squad returned their No. 2 and No. 3 singles players in juniors Maria Berlanga Bandera and Lily Hutchings. Bandera compiled an 18-10 singles record and went 13-7 in doubles with Hutchings last year. Bandera is 12-3, and Hutchings is 6-2 in singles to start the 2023-24 campaign. Fifth-year player Oleksandra Nahurska is ranked No. 125 and is 11-5 while playing No. 2 singles.

Tulsa signed four freshmen to the team, two of whom have made significant impacts early. Saniya Singhearned a 10-3 singles record and a 9-3 doubles record. Tayla Wilmot did not compete in any fall tournaments, but dual competition is perfect, with a singles record of 4-0 and a doubles record of 5-0.

The Golden Hurricanes started the 2023-24 season 5-0 season, including two sweeps over Omaha and Oral Roberts. Tulsa hits the road and takes on a gauntlet of tough opponents in Ole Miss and Memphis.

Memphis
The Tigers’ roster of eight players includes six returners and two newcomers. Memphis lost Aran Teixido Garcia after a 16-3 singles and 14-13 doubles season. Woog’s doubles partner Camila Soares also returned. The duo went 14-8 last year together and are 5-3 to start the 2023-24 campaign.

Memphis added two significant players, one through the transfer portal and one out of high school. Florida State transfer Alice Amendola is 7-5 in singles and 5-4 in doubles. Freshman Leonie Moeller, playing No. 2 singles, leads the team with 10 singles wins and just two losses.

The Tigers come to Oxford with a 1-1 record following a 4-3 loss to No. 24 Washington. The team enjoys a two-match home stand against Ole Miss and Tulsa.
