LAST WEEK
Utah State fell to Idaho State 5-2 in its opening match of the season. The Bengals got the double point with a win at the No. 1 spot and a win at the No. 3 spot. USU’s two points were secured by graduate senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk who posted a straight-sets win against ISU’s Asem Shoybek at the No. 2 spot (6-2, 6-4), and junior Indya Nespor, who swept at the No. 5 spot (6-2, 6-4). Senior Lisa Küng fell in a three-set match at the No. 1 spot (6-4, 6-7 (3), 1-6). Freshman Ana Paula Chavez Sanchez lost in straight sets at the No. 3 spot (3-6, 3-6). Freshman Niyati Kukreti lost in straight sets at the No. 4 spot (6-7 (5), 3-6), and sophomore Magdalena Nunez Pureco lost in three-sets at the No. 6 spot (6-4, 5-7, 0-1 (7)).
