Women’s Tennis welcomes ETSU on Friday, Alabama A&M on Sunday – Middle Tennessee State University Athletics


MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women’s tennis will host East Tennessee State on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. CT and Alabama A&M on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. CT.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Outdoor Tennis Facility on campus will be held on Thursday, Feb. at 1 p.m. CT.

The Blue Raiders are coming off a 4-3 win at Louisville. The win would be the first Power-5 win since 2016 which also came against the Cardinal.

As a team, MTSU has totaled 15 singles wins so far this season. Freshman Lena Peyer is off to a quick start with a 5-0 record in singles.

The doubles pairing of Sana Garakani and Eloise Swarbrick have earned a 3-1 record in doubles.

Match Six: Middle Tennessee (3-2, 0-0 CUSA) vs. ETSU (0-3, 0-0 SoCon)
– Friday, February 2 at 1 p.m. CT

All-time vs. ETSU
– Friday’s matchup will be 20th meeting between MTSU and ETSU.
– The Blue Raiders are 8-4 against the Bucs at home.
– Coach Bailey-Duvall is 2-3 against ETSU.

Scouting the Bucs
– ETSU is 0-3 as they dropped their match 5-2 against Virginia Tech in the last match.
– The Bucs return three from last season.
– Bellarmine welcomes three freshmen and a transfer to this year’s squad.

Match Seven: Middle Tennessee (3-2, 0-0 CUSA) vs. Alabama A&M (0-0, 0-0 SWAC)
– Sunday, February 4 at 1 p.m. CT
– Adams Tennis Complex
– Murfreesboro, Tenn.
 
All-time vs. Alabama A&M
– Sunday’s matchup will be sixth meeting between the two programs. MTSU leads the series 5-0.
– The Blue Raiders are 3-0 against AAMU at home.
– Bailey-Duvall is 2-0 against the Bulldogs.

Scouting the Bulldogs
– Alabama A&M will have their first match of the season on Friday, Feb. 2 against Jacksonville State.
– The Bulldogs return four players from last season.
– AAMU welcomes three freshmen and two transfers to this year’s squad.
