Woodland Wednesdays program to spotlight conservation climate smart practices


The next Woodland Wednesdays program will take place online at 6 p.m. May 29 and will offer conservation climate smart practices in forestland and timber stand improvement for wildlife management.

Attendees can learn about new climate smart programs as well as improvements to their forested land for wildlife with the United States Department of Agriculture’s  Natural Resource Conservation Service, according to a news release.

Attendees also can learn how to increase the soil health of their woods to optimize carbon sequestration along with meeting other goals including timber production, wildlife habitat and sugarbush management.

The featured speakers will be Julie Parker, district conservationist with USDA-NRCS, and Sean Marina, resource conservationist with USDA-NRCS.
