A mega popular food reviewer who paid a trip to Galway has said that one well-known establishment in the city has some of the “most flavoursome and tangy” pizza he’s ever had.
Matthew Binge from ‘FoodReviewClub’, which has 155k followers on Instragram, had exceptionally high praise for Dough Bros on Middle Street, giving them a rare 9.7/10.
Matthew explained that he’d asked followers for the best places in Galway to try and nearly all of the messages he received urged him to try the famous wood-fired pizza restaurant.

“People said it was the best pizza in Ireland, maybe in the Milk Way,” he joked.
Matthew was greeted by Ronan Greaney who started the business with his brother Eugene. “We had a food truck and did the market scene for a year. Then we did a pop up shop for two years, built a little community,” he explained.
“From there we ended up here and since then, it’s just been on the rise.”
The restaurant was voted the 15th best pizza in the world this year and won best pizza in Ireland for the past three years in a row.
Matthew struggled to pick a pizza, liking the sound of the ‘Legalise Marinara’ pizza but eventually opting for a plain cheese.
His reaction when he took his first slice outside on the street was obvious. “It’s so light, you could 65 of these,” Matthew said.
“I like what Ronan said about it being a hyrbid between a Neapolitan pizza and New York style. It’s got that really good tang.”
“Is this the best pizza you’ve ever made?” he asked Ronan.
“No, all of them are. There’s no special attention here,” he joked.
Matthew added: “We get told to come to a lot of these famous places, and sometimes they just don’t live up to the hype. That’s smashed it out of the park. It’s better than I thought it would be.”
Dough Bros commented on the video “Wowzers, proper chuffed with that boyos.”
“Not surprised by the score,” one person said, “we come by bus from Donegal to Galway just for the pizza.”
Another person commented that it was “the best pizza in Ireland.”
