With the development and modifications in line with the advent of technology in the last few decades, we have now reached the era of Smart TVs. Notably, the shows, audience viewing patterns and the presentation of information have also undergone a huge change over the years.
World Television Day 2023: History and Significance
The day marks celebrating the important role television plays in various fields across countries. It is also celebrated with the aim of improving broadcasting, which eventually brings a better television viewing experience.
In December 1996, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 21 to be observed as World Television Day because of its significant impact in bringing attention to concerning issues. Television Day is also being celebrated across the world for its potential to sharpen the focus on major issues like economic and social conflicts.
How to celebrate World Television Day?
In view of celebrating a day to highlight and focus on the relevance and importance of television in our lives, one can plan certain activities with family and friends. It can include watching your favourite television show, hosting a movie marathon, organising television trivia, visiting a television museum, and reading about the history of television.
Apart from this, you can also organise community events like discussions on the present-day updates in the television programs, reviewing a certain show or pattern of viewer’s choice and preference in shows, or bringing awareness among the individuals who can utilise television as a medium of information over only entertainment.
