She’s a Barbie girl. In a Barbie world. And now she’s about to be immortalised in a coffee table book.
Or, at least, all of the looks that Margot Robbie wore on the film’s global press tour are.
Barbie: The World Tour will provide an in-depth look at every single outfit stylist Andrew Mukamal put together for Margot over the course of the promotional tour.
It’ll also feature a foreword by British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, an introduction by Margaret Zhang, and an afterword by Greta Gerwig.
“This book is the culmination of tens of thousands of hours of work by some of the most talented and creative visionaries and designers on Earth,” Mukamal said.
“Margot and I felt compelled to share this with the world. We hope you love it as much as we do.”
Mattel, who are also involved in the creation of the book, added: “Barbie: The World Tour is the ultimate realization of Barbiecore, with iconic looks inspired by Barbie’s 65-years of fashion history, now brought to life by Margot and Andrew with best-in-class designers.
“It’s been inspiring to see the world follow the designs curated by Margot and Andrew in celebration of the movie, Barbie. Rich with unexpected playfulness, historic nods, and self-expression, these looks represent an exciting new take on Barbie style.”
Margot’s looks were the subject of much discussion ahead of Barbie’s release, as she donned a selection of gorgeous, iconic ‘fits, instantly recognisable by any fan of the much-loved doll.
Fashion houses Schiaparelli, Vivienne Westwood, Chanel and more were contracted by Mukamal to create modern takes on the looks, that have been synonymous with Barbie for over 50 years.
The book will also feature commentary from Robbie, as well as reference points from Barbie dolls over the year. Gorgeous.
Barbie: The World Tour is set to release in March, 2024.
