Ariana Grande lovers, mark your calendars: she’s returning!
After an almost three-year break from music, the pop icon has just put Arianators out of their misery by announcing that she’ll be releasing new music this week!
Grande, 30, teased the new song in an Instagram post on Sunday, writing “yes, and? 3 1.12” beneath a blurry close-up photo of herself in red lipstick – most likely the artwork for her next album.
She also announced the news on her Sweetner account, where she created a grid post with the same artwork and included a pre-save link in the profile.
Fans had been waiting for this announcement for a long time, as Grande’s most recent musical effort was her sixth studio album, Positions, which was published in 2020, with a deluxe version following in January 2021.
Meanwhile, the former Nickelodeon star has appeared on the soundtrack to Don’t Look Up in 2021, as well as remixes of The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears in 2021 and Die For You in 2023.
Fans are ecstatic as the chart-topping performer prepares to release her own songs for the first time in three years this Friday.
“You knew we needed 2024 to be filled with magic… can’t wait!” one admirer commented in the comments, while another yelled, “MOTHER IS BACK!”
