London Fashion Week is set to takeover the city over the course of the next week. We’ve answered your important and common questions about the stylish event.

London Fashion Week (LFW) officially kicks off in the capital tomorrow (12th September) with stars and designers descending upon the city for shows, parties, and exhibitions.

There is a packed schedule for the twice-annual event, that will see designers and brands including Paul Costello, UGG and eBay, host events.

While the majority of events are by invitation only, some are open to the public.

Understandably, Fashion Week draws in huge crowds, hoping to catch a glimpse of the glitterati.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week and an icons party will be held to celebrate.

Where is London Fashion Week held?

London Fashion Week is typically held at various locations across the city, including iconic venues like Somerset House, the British Fashion Council’s headquarters, which often feature on the programme.

Designers sometimes opt to hold shows in more unconventional spaces.

When did London Fashion Week start?

London Fashion Week was first held in 1984. It has grown from a small, niche event into one of the Big Four fashion weeks, alongside New York, Paris, and Milan.

How long is London Fashion Week?

The September 2024 London Fashion Week will run from Thursday 12th September (from 5pm)– Tuesday 17th September (until 12pm)

London Fashion Week schedule

London Fashion Week schedule kicks off tomorrow (Thursday, September 12) and runs until Tuesday, September 17.

The first event on the schedule is an invitation-only runway show by eBay.

Other highlights include the Harris Reed catwalk show, H&M Womenswear show, Wonderland x UGG afterparty, LFW40 Icons party and more.

When is London Fashion Week 2025?

London Fashion Week takes place twice a year in February and September.

What celebrities will be attending London Fashion Week?

Every year the glitterati turn out in their droves to attend fashion week shows across the globe.

Earlier this year, Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, Tilda Swinton and Lily James, were spotted on the front row.

In 2023, Stormzy, Cole Sprouse, Kate Winslet, Kylie Minogue and Jodie Comer were all in attendance.

Fashion Week favourites include Alexa Chung, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, Georgia May Jagger, Naomi Campbell, and Joanna Lumley.
