Buys lifestyles can mean people forget to charge their devices or simply don’t leave them on charge for long enough.

Now tech giant Google has revealed that many Android customers are making three crucial mistakes which could be killing their devices.

Choose settings that use less battery

Most Android devices allow users to adjust the setting to reduce battery usage.

Reducing screen brightness and the volume of sounds will allow the device to use a lot less battery power, making the phone more efficient.

It’s a simple trade off that often reaps rewards in terms of battery life.

Take care of your battery

Google said that customers should use the power adaptor that came with the phone they bought. This is the only adaptor that the customer should use to charge the device, Google said.

The tech company explained that other chargers that did not come with the phone could actually damage it over time.

Stretch a low battery

Google said that there were simple actions many users could take to reduce the strain on their batteries. Some customers were not aware that battery life can be extended by avoiding hotspots, GPS, videos and other streaming services.

Often silly videos sent to your phone through WhatsApp drain the battery over time.

Apps, interactive games and the camera all drained the battery over time. Google said switching the phone to airplane mode, which isolated it, was often the best way to protect the battery.

Google also advised Android users to turn off Bluetooth and location access to protect their battery’s life span.

If the battery continues to be an issue the user can consider rebooting the phone, checking regularly for updates, checking apps for updates and resetting the device back to factory settings.

A leaked report recently revealed that Google plans to get the edge over other Android phones, including Samsung, by using its new AI assistant called Pixie.

According to The Information, Google intends to bring the exclusive Pixie to its smartphones, beginning with the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro.

By gathering data from Gmail, YouTube and other Google products on a user’s Pixel phone its aim is to offer more personalised suggestions.
