Zverev vs Rublev Prediction (QF): 2023 ATP Vienna Tennis

Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev will meet in an upcoming tennis match at the 2023 ATP Vienna event. The players are scheduled to meet in one of the better quarterfinal matches at the tournament, a competition that is also known as the 2023 Erst Bank Open. There is not much between these players in terms of aptitude and recent form. The match is considered pretty even on betting odds with bet365 as well. My Zverev vs Rublev prediction is that there will be a tiebreaker in this competition as these two players look evenly matched.

Alexander Zverev vs Andrey Rublev Head-to-Head Series

Zverev owns a strong head-to-head record against Rublev. Currently, the series is at 5-2. However, both of Rublev’s wins have come in their most recent matches. Rublev beat Zverev twice earlier this season, once in Bastad and once in Dubai. They have never played an indoor match yet, as Vienna will be. But on the hard courts, Zverev is 4-1.

Rublev, prior to Vienna, was in the ATP Shanghai final. He lost that tournament final to Hubert Hurkacz. There was a bit of a question as to how Rublev would bounce back in Vienna but he has been solid, in my opinion.

On form at the current tournament, Zverev has been sharper through two rounds. He is 24-11 in games played while Rublev is 26-18 with a near-dropped set in the first round. Zverev has had a slightly easier draw in my opinion, picking up an off-form Cameron Norrie for an easy win in the round of sixteen. Zverev’s ace count was really high in the last round. For just an eighteen-game match, he had nine aces and no double faults.

Zverev vs Rublev Prediction: tiebreaker played

This will probably be a match where each player serves really well. At -125, most will pick Zverev for the win based on the 5-2 record (bet365). However, if the sets are really long, then Rublev’s fitness should make a difference. He is a lighter and more nimble athlete with better endurance than the towering 6’6″ Zverev. In what looks like an open match, my recommendation is OVER 0.5 tiebreakers at -120 and a dabble at OVER 1.5 tiebreakers at +600.
