Zverev vs Tsitsipas Prediction (R16): 2023 ATP Paris Tennis

Alexander Zverev faced a tough match in the second round of the 2023 Paris Masters. However, he outlasted Ugo Humbert to advance to the round of sixteen. Next, Zverev will face Stefanos Tsitsipas, a player who has struggled in the last few months on tour. There is a spot in the quarterfinals at stake and a chance for really valuable points this weekend. My Zverev vs Tsitsipas prediction is that the former will dial up a lot of aces in the upcoming match.

Alexander Zverev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Head-to-Head Series

These two players are not strangers to one another. They have met 12 times in the past with the Greek player, Tsitsipas, generally getting the wins. He is 8-4 against Zverev but they have not met this season.

Furthermore, a lot of their recent matches have been on the clay-court surface. In three meetings in 2022, Tsitsipas went 2-1 on outdoor clay matches. Three of Zverev’s four wins have been on the cement. They have only met one time in indoor conditions on the hard court surface, a match that Tsitsipas won.

Their upcoming match certainly presents some previewing challenges. Notably, Tsitsipas has been in a slump. He made the semifinals last week in Vienna but he never beat anyone ranked higher than 74th en route. In fact, prior to the last round in Paris, you would have had to go back to Los Cabos to find a win over a Top 20 player. That tournament final was about three months ago now. In the last round, Tsitsipas beat world No. 19 Felix Auger-Aliassime but the Canadian had to be tired after a condensed schedule over the last week and a bit.

Zverev has not been all good news lately. There were a couple of matches in October that he lost and probably should have won. But last week, he did beat Cameron Norrie convincingly in Vienna ahead of pushing Andrey Rublev to a third set in the tournament. In Paris, Zverev did struggle with Humbert but the French player has turned things up a notch in recent weeks.

Zverev vs Tsitsipas Prediction: Zverev 10+ aces

Zverev has played 68 games through the first two rounds of the ATP Paris draw, which is a ton. Having narrowly escaped elimination in the last round, one might think he’s set to go out in the next. However, Tsitsipas has not taken advantage of the opportunities he has had lately. Bettors have to expect a weak form of each player in the upcoming match.

that could actually produce competitiveness and bettors should expect a lot of games in this upcoming match. My recommendation is to take Zverev to serve 10+ aces in the match at +120 (bet365). Going for the service winner is a smart move for someone who could be tiring and Zverev is a smart player. Also, if the match is a long one, there will be plenty of service games for the German to pad his ace total.
