A ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the opening of 24/7 Grit Fitness on Wednesday.

Caleb Bowen, one of the gym’s four owners, said the idea for opening the gym came together at the end of 2022.

24/7 Grit Fitness is owned by Bowen, Joey Mirth, Chris Pittmon and Justin Gentry.

“One of the decisions we made very early was joining the Chamber,” Bowen said, adding “I know that the Chamber is obviously a big part of Callaway County, we want to be a part of that.”

Bowen said one of the visions for the gym “was to be a small business in a small community and be a part of the community.”

“We have tried to take as big an effort in that as we can to try to sponsor events in town, make donations, things like that to try to be a part of the community and be an asset to the people.”

The four owners are local to the area. Pittmon and Bowen both graduated from Fulton High School, Mirth and Gentry “are fairly local as well.”

“We really pride ourselves on being a part of the community,” Bowen said.

Bowen is appreciative of the help the gym has received from the Callaway Chamber of Commerce so far. 24/7 Grit Fitness encountered an issue obtaining its tax identification number that Brianna Kliethermes, small business liaison at the Chamber, “was able to tackle in a matter of seconds.”

“I went to Brianna’s desk and she goes ‘oh, here you go’ and prints it off and hands it to me,” Bowen said.

The gym hosted its grand opening May 22.

24/7 Grit Fitness is located at 1877 North Bluff Street in Fulton.
