Beyond the Table


FORESTPORT — Jeannie Wolcott, RD, CDN will review the factors that promote a healthy lifestyle and optimal factors for longevity as a way to celebrate National Nutrition Month. The presentation will be held at the Forestport Town Hall on Route 28 and will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. The title is, “Beyond the Table,” which is the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics theme for 2024.

Jeannie’s passion for nutrition started in 1962 during her first job as a tray girl at Utica’s Faxton Hospital. She studied at SUNY Morrisville and received a AAS Degree in Food Service Management in 1966 and worked locally at Rome Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital and St. Elizabeth. She continued her studies at Utica College, Empire College and received a BS Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the College of Human Development at Syracuse University. In 1979, she was employed by Upstate Cerebral Palsy Center and Sitrin’s Gan Kavod until her retirement in 2012. She also operated Borgia and Associates Comprehensive Nutrition Services and taught nutrition to the nursing students at the College of Nursing through MVCC.
