CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Registration has begun for AARP’s “Healthy Food/Healthy Mind” cooking courses for March.
These free courses are happening from 5-6 P.M. mountain time March 12th, March 19th, and March 26th.
Each of these courses will offer those who attend cooking instructions along with brain health lessons along the way.
The meals include,
March 12 – Southwestern tuna melt and kale quinoa salad.
March 19 – Sweet potato nachos, peach cup, and sweet and sour cabbage.
March 26 – Creamy broccoli soup and apple nachos.
These courses are on Zoom and are taught by instructor Judy Barbe, who has a master’s degree in food science and human nutrition.
According to AARP, some of her “recipes and recommendations have been featured on many sites, including CookingLight, Reader’s Digest, Prevention, and TheHealthy”.
The brain health lessons that will be included with the instructions will touch on AARP’s six pillars of brain health.
The six pillars are “be social, engage your brain, manage stress, ongoing exercise, restorative sleep and eat right”.
