YMCA Cass Clay holds open house for fitness program for those ages 50 and up

FARGO — YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties opened their doors to those age 50 and up looking to get into fitness on Thursday, Oct. 19.

An open house at the Fercho branch showcased a variety of activities for their ForeverWell fitness program, which is free for YMCA members.

People got to play pickleball, participate in a Silver Sneakers dance class, and more.

Katelyn Whittenburg, the group fitness director at YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties, says it lets people try things they might not be familiar with.

“If you’ve never had any experience outside of knowing how to play pickleball, if there’s something that — maybe you’re not used to doing art on your own — it’s very inclusive,” Whittenburg said.
