Health in a Handbasket: should you change your diet in the summer?

On this week’s installment of Health in a Handbasket, registered nutritionist Anne Murray talks about the benefits of changing up your diet in the summer.

“Eating with the seasons is so important,” she says, “and luckily for y’all, summer eating is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Murray outlines three benefits of seasonal eating: nutrient richness, the flavor of fresh produce, and sustainability.

“Think about foods that are in season,” she says. “Stuff like fresh fruit: watermelon, strawberries, all the fresh summer fruits you can throw on the grill.”

She also urges grilled proteins and hydrating foods.
