We all love indulging in those delicious, calorie-packed holiday treats (and you definitely should too), but it’s January. Time to get serious. Time to get healthy. Our bodies are begging for something healthier!
And let’s face it, it’s probably a good idea to listen. Nutritious foods can leave you feeling happier, healthier and more energetic — which is what we all need to get through the start of a new year. I know it’s exactly what I need.
Fortunately, McKinney’s dining scene is filled with high-quality, healthy options — all year round. Here’s Local Profile’s curated list of healthy dining options in McKinney:
Harvest at the Masonic
215 N Kentucky St, McKinney
Menu | Reservations
One of my personal favorite restaurants, Michelin-recommended Harvest at the Masonic, is serving up some of the freshest, most delicious food. Chef Andrea Shackleford is still creating memorable dishes that guests are eager to try again. With all farm-to-table cuisine, everything is as locally sourced as possible.
Our recommendation: Roasted cauliflower and butternut squash
Spoons Cafe
100 E Louisiana St, McKinney
Menu | Reservations
I love breakfast — and I mean, really love breakfast. While a plate of hot waffles slathered with butter and syrup always sounds great, it’s not the most healthy. Spoons Cafe, while of course making a great waffle, also has plenty of healthy options to help you stick to any diet you may be following.
Our recommendation: Karen special
Patina Green
116 N Tennessee St STE 102, McKinney
Menu
With farm-to-table dining, Patina Green offers a seasonal lunch menu, fresh produce from local farms and house-made packaged foods to take home. But be sure to check the menu before heading over — it changes daily, yes every single day.
The Yard
107 S Church St, McKinney
Menu
Bring the whole family — the vegan, the gluten-free, the keto and even the dog too! While a good part of the menu features classic greasy bar food. The Yard also has an entire health-conscious menu, aka the “green stuff.” With a handful of great salads and bowls, The Yard can be enjoyed by everyone.
Our recommendation: Winter grain bowl
Z’s Good Vibez Juice Bar
301 N Custer Rd #100, McKinney
Menu
All Good Vibez here! Their menu is designed as a symphony of colors, flavors and nutrients. From refreshing fruit and vegetable juices to delicious handcrafted smoothies and açaí bowls, every item is made with love and intention. Plus, for a little extra goodness, each menu item is thoughtfully named and inspired by words of affirmation.
Our recommendation: Go with the flow
Not in McKinney? We also found some great healthy restaurants in Frisco and Plano.
