This New App Is a Fitness Junkie’s Dream

I am high-maintenance about my workout routine. This is partly due to the nature of New York City workout class culture and how quickly spots fill up, but I also love to get movement in to benefit my mind and body. However, I am admittedly not as habitual with exercise recovery, often only stretching during the few minutes built into the end of my workout class. However, I found the perfect solution at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Therabody, known for its percussion devices and some of Bazaar’s favorite skincare tools, just debuted a smart app in partnership with wearable and tech brand Garmin that takes the guesswork out of fitness recovery.

Coach by Therabody is an app that connects with wearables and fitness apps like Garmin’s smartwatch, run-tracking app Strava, and Apple Fitness to provide a personalized recovery regimen based on your wellness goals, injuries, and body’s current energy levels. So, if you barely slept the night before an intense workout or suffered an injury, Coach by Therabody creates a customized routine so you can simultaneously heal and work on your fitness and wellness goals. The app also suggests specific Therabody devices for optimal recovery, and when used with Garmin’s wearables, it gives you a step-by-step visual guide on how to use the devices in your custom routine. Whether you’re a percussive treatment novice or Therabody superfan, Coach has routines for every lifestyle and expert level.

“It made perfect sense to partner with Garmin to blend the best of our recovery offerings and technology with their extensive network of data,” says Therabody founder Jason Wersland.

Wellness and beauty apps powered by artificial intelligence aren’t new (today’s network of apps can suggest everything from workouts to skincare routines). Still, Therabody wants to enhance your routine realistically–not add a dozen other steps to your already busy schedule.

During CES, Therabody also teased plans to expand the app to showcase its beauty and skincare device offerings. I had the opportunity to road-test the app at CES and will be first in line to download Coach when it’s available. While the app is currently in Beta, it will roll out widely in February and can be connected to the brand’s Theragun PRO Plus and Theragun Prime Plus.
