These fitness must-haves are currently up to 65% off — but not for long! Shop sneakers, smartwatches and more

Personally, my New Year started the first Monday of January. It was the first day I was back to my regularly-scheduled programming in New York City.

Getting back into the swing of things post-holiday is never easy, but the one part of my routine that makes me feel better is working out.

Workout essentials and must-haves are rarely cheap, which is why it’s intimidating to get started in the new year. However, we found leggings for up to 65% off, sneakers for less than $50 and gear starting at $20.

See below for editor favorites, Shop TODAY award winners, trending brands and more for up to 65% off their original prices.

Workout clothing on sale

Shapermint Essentials High-Waisted Active Shaping Leggings

“I wore these to the gym last week for a lifting day and they were really good!” exclaims associate editor, Kamari Stewart. She says that they “stayed in place and I love the pocket on the side. I love the waistband pocket and would definitely use it for my keys if I was going to a workout class or something. They’re good for light workouts, like I would definitely wear them to a Pilates class. Because of its material, I don’t think I’d wear them for running.”

The Gym People Joggers

Commerce editor and producer Julie Ricevuto says these joggers have a just-right fit, that isn’t too tight-fitting or loose. She’s worn these to the office, on her daily commute and while hiking, proving their versatility and comfort.

Gymshark Vital Seamless 2.0 Leggings

“Gymshark has been my go-to brand for workout clothing for years,” says associate social media editor Dani Musacchio. “I’m particularly a fan of their leggings, which never slide down as I work out and are sweat-wicking. I also love how their leggings come in tons of colors, so you can really have fun with your gym ’fit.”

Under Armour Heat Gear High Waisted 7/8 Leggings

“For any high-impact activity (boxing or running, basically), I wear these,” says deputy editorial director, Ali Deabler. “Or when I’m moving and carrying something, since these are really sturdy. The material never feels like it’s going to rip or pill or damage. They’re really dark, really soft and slick and sweat-wicking. Plus they have a pocket, which is great for putting your phone or keys in. I do feel it’s a little bit loose, though, so I worry about it falling out during a run.”

Outdoor Voices TechSweat Move Free Dress

Perfect for pickleball, running errands, hot girl walks and everything in between, this workout dress is sure to become your new athleisure go-to (once the weather warms up, of course!).

With a built-in bra, shorts liner and removable padding, Outdoor Voices hopes this dress will help you move freely and fully without any restrictions.

Bombas Quarter Sock 4-Pack

” I’m so mad that I discovered these socks so late in life,” says commerce writer, Danielle Murphy. “They check all the boxes: soft, stretchy and comfortable. I especially love the ribbed design at the ankle, which prevents them from moving down my foot and scrunching up. Solid sock choice.”

They’re available in four different packs: two multi-colored ones, all-white and an all-black set.

Athleta Elation Ultra High Rise Sheen Legging

“I have these leggings in black and I live in them,” says associate editor Shannon Garlin. “The fabric is really soft and stretchy, and I love the thick high-waist band. It hugs my hips perfectly, without feeling tight. Also, when I say I live in them, I do — I wear them to yoga, barre and also around the house when I’m working remotely or running errands.”

They’re made out of a nylon and lycra fabric blend, helping them to be soft and stretchy, as Garlin mentions. Plus, the brand mentions they’re breathable, helping to not restrict you from doing downward dogs or burpees.

Lululemon SenseKnit Running High-Rise Tight

Crafted for long runs, Lululemon promises that these leggings will help you move with ease for many miles, thanks to its “targeted support” in certain areas.

Plus, it’s made out of a nylon and elastane fabric blend, aimed to wick away sweat with every stride.

Alo Yoga 7/8 High-Waist Airbrush Legging

This sleek pair of leggings is made with the brand’s signature Airbrush fabric (a nylon and elastane blend) that is stretchy and moisture-wicking to help you move without worry.

Hoka Bondi 8

They’re available in a range of sizes and colors, and while they were designed with running in mind, they work great as an everyday shoe for those constantly on the go.

Workout gear and accessories on sale

Henkelion Adjustable Ankle Weights

“When it comes to fitness gear, I like to stick to the basics: dumbbells, resistance bands, a yoga mat I can use again and again and ankle weights,” says partnerships editorial assistant Erica Marrison. And as far as ankle weights go, these fit the bill — they’re nothing fancy, but they work! My favorite feature is that they are held on by a strong Velcro, as opposed to a double ring buckle, which I’ve tried in the past and didn’t love because they were always coming undone and slipping off. Plus, the price point on these is great and they can easily be stored, which is key for small-space living.

Magic Bullet Blender

This blender was named a “kitchen essential” during Shop TODAY’s 2023 Wellness Awards, thanks to its small-but-mighty design that helps it provide you with flavorful smoothies, protein shakes and more.

Gaiam Dry-Grip 5mm Yoga Mat

Described as “thick” and “sturdy” by reviewers, this yoga mat will keep you secure during hot yoga classes and regular ones alike.

It’s currently 39% off and less than $50, so be sure to add it to cart while it’s still on sale!

Therabody Theragun Mini

Experts recommend using a massage gun to warm up your body before a workout and afterward to help relieve muscles. This miniature version of Therabody’s more expansive massage gun only includes one head, yet has up to three different speed settings for on-the-go relief.

Urevo Spacewalk E4 Treadmill

Walking pads are a great way to hit your daily step goal while answering emails or attending Zoom calls. This slim piece of workout equipment is perfect for those in small apartments, as it can be easily stored underneath a couch or bed.

Garmin Forerunner 55 Running Watch

Commerce writer Emma Stessman recently put three fitness trackers to the test, including the Garmin Forerunner 55. Her findings? This watch is the best for runners, thanks to its ability to help you set and accomplish goals and its ease of use despite the lack of a touchscreen.

Snag it while it’s currently on sale for any upcoming races or long runs 2025 may have in store.
