Oswego County Opportunities OPTIONS program was one of nine organizations that received grants from Fidelis Care. The grants assist community-based organizations that play a vital role in ensuring safe pregnancies and healthy babies – particularly for underserved, lower-income women and their families across New York.

“The Veggies to Go! bags are just one example of the impact Fidelis Care has had on our program and those we serve,” said OCO Coordinator of Health Access Services Stacie France. “The grant has gone a long way in helping us address the needs of new mothers who are engaged with OPTIONS. In addition providing healthy foods through home delivered meals and this free give away, the funding provides post-partum materials, breastfeeding education, supplies, and other resources to improve the overall health and well-being of the families.”

The Veggies to Go! bag distribution is being held in conjunction with the Community Baby Shower being held inside Catholic Charities from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A free event for new and expecting mothers, the Community Baby Shower will focus on caring for new babies and community resources that are available in Oswego County.

The OCO OPTIONS program is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of parents, expecting parents and babies in Oswego County by providing access to healthcare and connecting families with community resources. OPTIONS offers personalized one-on-one sessions covering a range of topics such as pregnancy health, important milestones during pregnancy and early parenthood, and valuable parenting information. The program also offers breastfeeding education and support from Certified Lactation Counselors.
