
Loved ones are grappling with the loss of Patrick Heringer. The 46-year-old was killed in a stabbing in his own home on Wednesday.Police say they were called to East McMicken Avenue at 4 a.m. They say Heringer had been stabbed in the neck and died of his injuries. Police have not released any information on a possible suspect or motive.”He’s just a really bright, giant energy of a person,” said Karmaic Beauty Salon owner Brant Dutle. Brant and his wife were great friends with Heringer after cutting his hair for nearly a decade.”My wife was always the one he went to, and they just became, like, brother and sister. He was one of the best people you ever want to meet,” said Dutle.Heringer owned Findlay Movement, a CrossFit gym just a few blocks from his home. A memorial with flowers and letters is starting to grow outside it’s garage. Dutle said he “poured his heart and soul” into his clients. Heringer also served in the Army. For all the laughs and good times they shared, Dutle says they had many deep conversations as well.”We would have discussions about how we’re taking care of our mental health, things like that. He was always somebody you can talk to,” he said.While police investigate what happened, Brant is urging everyone to focus on supporting Heringer’s family through this awful time. “His wonderful wife Sarah, I can’t imagine what she is going thorough right now,” said Dutle. ” I just hope that justice is found.”
