Free workouts at Northern Indiana Planet Fitness amid air alert

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Northern Indiana is experiencing unhealthy air quality due to Canadian wildfires, prompting select Planet Fitness locations to offer free indoor exercise access through Sunday, June 8.

Adam Willaeys, CEO at Impact Fitness, a Planet Fitness franchisee, said, “With the state being under an air quality alert due to the Canadian wildfires, we want to provide an indoor exercise option so people who normally exercise outdoors can avoid unhealthy air quality levels.”

Impact Fitness operates 17 Planet Fitness locations in Northern Indiana, including South Bend, Fort Wayne, La Porte, and Michigan City.

Willaeys added, “A healthy lifestyle includes making fitness a part of your routine, and we hope to give everyone the opportunity to exercise safely and continue their healthy habits with this free access.”

Participating locations include four in Fort Wayne, and others in Columbia City, New Haven, Auburn, and Huntington.
