DANVILLE, Pa. – Geisinger will again offer free in-person and virtual cooking classes to community members in the new year.

Registration is now open for the 2024 culinary medicine classes, which combine the art and skill of cooking with the science of nutrition.

The classes are led by a registered dietitian nutritionist and cover topics including healthy meals, portion sizes, label reading, snacking, eating behaviors, kitchen safety and good shopping habits.

“Attending culinary medicine classes was a transformative experience for me. Learning nutrition principles based on the Mediterranean diet not only improved my cooking skills, but also enlightened me on how to enhance nutritional value without sacrificing delicious flavors, making every meal a delightful and healthy experience,” said Hardik Patel, M.D., hospitalist at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
