Meghan Markle’s top tip on how to eat unhealthy takeaway foods and stay slim

She said: “I could eat French fries all day long.”

The Duchess of Sussex went on to explain how she avoids dieting and opts, instead, for a term called “lifestyle eating”.

She explained: “When I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.”

When questioned about her ability to eat fries and stay healthy she responded: “It’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived.

“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”

On another occasion, Meghan told Delish of her biggest food love: “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me.”

When it comes to her favourite fries, the duchess admitted she can’t say no to a good poutine – a Canadian dish of French fries, cheese curds and gravy – and she’s quite an expert at it.

“It’s got to squeak when you bite into it,” Markle told Delish. “The cheese curds should make a squeaking noise when you bite into them or squeeze them. That’s how you know you’ve got the right kind.”

But if a poutine is not available, Meghan can still enjoy a portion of simple fries with a side of ketchup.

She once told Eyeswoon that when she eats fries or tater tots she likes to mix her ketchup with Sriracha for a bit of an extra kick.

Prince Harry’s wife also likes to indulge in some quality pasta when she can.

She’s previously admitted: ” I love pasta. I love carbs – who doesn’t love a carbohydrate?”
