Basecamp Fitness, a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout concept, recently unveiled its first studio in New Jersey.
Located at 905 River Road in Edgewater, the new space is celebrating its Oct. 13 grand opening by offering a 10% discount on rates for founding members through the end of the month.
Launched in 2013 by Zappos.com founder Nick Swinmurn, Basecamp Fitness is a group workout scientifically proven to give members better exercise in minimal time, packing 50 minutes of supercharged calorie burn into just 35 minutes.
The coach-led format rotates participants every 60-90 seconds between heart-pumping cardio on an air-bike and strength training exercises with an optional 10-minute cooldown available at the end of each workout, featuring a variety of core exercises.
Members are encouraged to track their progress through Basecamp’s mobile app, allowing them to monitor their results and health data, as well as schedule classes and stay connected with the brand’s online community.
Now a subsidiary of Self Esteem Brands, the concept has over 70 locations nationwide.
“We’re privileged to own and operate the first Basecamp Fitness location in New Jersey,” said Adam Orecchio, who is co-franchising the studio with his brother, Michael.
“Fitness is a big part of mine and Mike’s lives, which is why we decided to open our first Anytime Fitness in Cliffside Park in 2021. After two years of success, we wanted to broaden our portfolio and knew Basecamp Fitness would be a natural fit. As a sister brand to Anytime Fitness, we were familiar with the concept and had the opportunity to be the first franchisee to bring the concept to New Jersey – and the rest is history! We’re confident Basecamp’s unique and effective workout will impress residents and we look forward to sharing that with the rest of the community very soon,” he said.
